Even if you’re not a big NFL fan, you would’ve heard of the Dallas Cowboys. The navy blue and white colors, along with their signature cowboy theme, are hard to miss. And with a massive fan base, it’s difficult not to meet someone who’s an avid follower no matter where you are in the U.S.
What Makes Dallas Cowboys ‘America’s Team’
The Dallas Cowboys have been called ‘America’s Team’ – and for many reasons, too. A five-time Super Bowl winner, with 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games, not to mention a record of 20 straight winning seasons, one can’t deny their success as a team as well as a franchise.
But perhaps one of the reasons for the title is how the team was introduced back in 1978, when narrator John Facenda called them: Dallas Cowboys, ‘America’s Team’, because they appeared on TV so much. It wasn’t an overnight success though.
They had to work hard to recruit and train quality players. This of course, as we know today, has paid off. The Cowboys are one of the most followed teams in American football.
