Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film based on DC Comics characters. The film is set in 1981, where it chronicles the struggles of a failed party clown and stand-up comedian known as Arthur Fleck (played by Joaquin Phoenix).
Having failed to launch his entertainment career, Arthur Fleck becomes the subject of ridicule. Fleck believes he’s an incredibly talented clown and stand-up comedian. What he doesn’t understand is why his career just doesn’t seem to take off. The fact that he cannot support his ailing mother financially only infuriates him further.
Unhappy with what he has become, Fleck walks the streets of Gotham City, looking for new inspiration. He dons two ‘masks’ – the first one identifies him with his day job as a party clown and the other one he wears in his desperate attempts to blend into the world around him. However, Flecks’ attempts to fit into his surroundings prove futile. He ends up being bullied, ridiculed, and isolated by society.
Fleck slowly begins to descend into the criminal underworld. He eventually degenerates into a brutal, fiercely calculative criminal mastermind known as the Joker. Joker seems to enjoy his newfound occupation as he doesn’t hesitate to raise hell wherever he goes. At least, society can now pay attention to him.
Joker is directed and produced by Todd Phillips. Phillips also wrote the movie’s screenplay in conjunction with Scott Silver. Other cast members include Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Zazie Beetz, Glenn Fleshler, Brett Cullen, Bill Camp, Marc Maron, and Shea Whigham.
There are hundreds of font types out there. Many of these fonts have existed for decades and continue to be adopted by upcoming brands worldwide. However, some fonts were either designed wholly for certain brands or popularized by those specific brands. One such font is the one used on the logo of the Joker movie.
The font appearing on the Joker movie logo is known as Gothic Joker. The font was created by Chad Danieley.
One of the most outstanding things about the Gothic Joker font is its rustic design. The designer, Danieley, simply created the logo using wood type letterpress. In a Reddit post, Danieley explained that going analog with the logo complemented the film’s tone and feel far better than a digitally created logo would have.
Where to Download the Gothic Joker Font
Although the Gothic Joker font was popularized by the DC film Joker, the font is widely available for personal and commercial use. So, there’s virtually no limit to the number of projects you can apply this font to.
Obviously, the exception would be projects that closely resemble the Joker movie in nature. For instance, it would be illogical to select this font when making a film or television show that’s coincidentally titled “Joker” unless it’s intended to be a parody of the original film.
