FREE Adidas Fonts Fit For Every Sports Fan
Whether you’re into sports or not, you have seen – or owned – Adidas items. Known for their shoes, clothing, and accessories, the German multinational corporation is a leading brand when it comes to sportswear. It’s the largest manufacturer in Europe, and second largest in the world.
How Adidas Began
Founded by Adolf ‘Adi’ Dassler in July of 1924, the company began as a small enterprise in Adolf’s mother’s laundry room in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Together with his brother Rudolf, they made sports shoes. They named their business Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik, or Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory.
Adolf helped in the development of spiked running shoes for athletic events. His version consisted of canvas and rubber, instead of the traditional heavy metal spikes. He then convinced U.S. sprinter Jesse Owens to use his spikes model for the 1936 Summer Olympics. As Owens won four Olympic gold medals, the Dassler’s brothers business soared and their brand became famous with sportsmen and trainers.
Eventually, the brothers split and Adolf registered the business as Adidas AG from Adi Dassler. In 2018, Adidas reported revenue of almost € 22 billion.
